[July 12][Original] I Wish I Didn't Know You

Title: I Wish I Didn't Know You
Day/Theme: July 12, 2009 "if I didn't know you, I'd rather not know"
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Kojay, Fado, etc.
Rating: PG

"Boy do I hate guys like you," Kojay grumbled. Bashir was amazed at his ability to look hostile even while munching on a handful of olallieberries. While his bad humor was even harder to understand than usual in this sort of situation, in general, Bashir had trouble wrapping his mind around the majority of Kojay's most prominent characteristics. He was quiet, brash, and didn't appear to have an respect for anyone. And all of this was aside from the fact that he a notorious local criminal. In this world, there were just some people one wasn't meant to get along with.

"Like me, you say?" Fado asked the question evenly, although it was clear that he was the focal point of this annoyed comment, whether or not it was directed at him alone.

"Yeah, like you!" Kojay snapped. "Are you some kind of idiot? Of course I mean you."

When Saselia and Simcha's eyes met, they tried not to snicker openly and both ended up turning away from the cutting stare of the angry thief. Kojay finished his berries and licked his sticky fingers, glaring at Fado all the while.

"What about me is so awesomely heinous that you have to openly complain about my character?"

The way Fado managed to roll off a sentence like that only made Bashir love him more. If he'd ever met a real man in his life, it was certainly Fado. The fact that he managed to put up with Kojay with a smile on his face for this long, only made him more admirable. Though Bashir had seen some of his less-than-lovable qualities leak out before, in many ways he was as saintly as they came.

"You're a sucker," was the only answer Kojay deigned to give. "If I had the choice to do it all over again, I would do anything in my power to avoid meeting you."

"Even if it meant you couldn't steal or start any fights?" Saselia had to ask.

"Erm...nah, that's a bit much," he conceded.
