The End of Time was not the place to deliver bad news- not for herself, not for the people she was telling. There wasn’t exactly a thriving atmosphere there in the first place, and bad news- especially news like this- wasn’t going to improve things.

She’d never expected to want to reverse things so badly. Of course she wanted to stop Lavos- but that was for the world in general, more distanced. This- this was a lot closer.

She couldn’t look Lucca in the eye as she related what had happened. She should’ve been able to do something- that was what this had been all about, wasn’t it? Protecting- mainly the world, but also each other.

She wished Lucca would yell at her. It wasn’t right to just have one’s world burst apart around them and not get a reaction.

This wasn’t how things were supposed to go.
