{o5 July} Go put on some friends already.
Day/ Theme: 5th July » I RAN UP THE DOOR, CLOSED THE STAIRS
Series: Loveless
Characters: Kio, Soubi
Rating: PG
A frown set as the boy looked at the table top. Absently, he tucked a strand of hair behind his ear as he looked at a painting of a delicate insect at his end of the desk, following along the pictures of the same beast. Finger running along the plastic surface, it stopped as he paused at a sketch that wasn't finished yet. A curving line curled along the paper in a graphite trail, only interrupted by shadow cast by the pencil creating it. The finger, walking with another up the artist's arm, Kio lay it on Soubi's shoulder as the other hand rested opposite. Peering over the taller man's shoulder to look at the butterfly from the artist's angle, he chuckled slightly.
"I know you hate the things, and why you always draw them, but I think it's silly that you do." He hummed, watching Soubi draw for a moment longer before speaking again. "I, erm, if you aren't busy tonight, you should come to the opening at the movie theatre. All the reviews say it's really good." Gray eyes slid to the clock, grinning a little bit as Soubi stopped drawing to tilt his head towards his friend. The blond boy shifted to lean against the table, looking down. "I forgot to tell you until just now- its in like, half an hour." Soubi looked back at him, expression a proper state of bemusement on his face.
"Do you already have my ticket, then?"
Kio grinned wider, flicking out two tickets, splaying them out between his pointer and middle finger to demonstrate them. "Because I know you too well, Soubi-soubi." He paused, looking down at the sketch before back at his friend, smile waned a bit. "Are you sure you want to come, though?" The taller man had seemed off lately, probably because of Ritsuka. He'd come to accept the fact - on the inside, at least, that he'd probably never be with his friend in any intimacy other than conversation as they had now. This was as close as he would come. It made his chest ache sometimes, but usually he didn't even think on it. Unlike right now- maybe he already promised he'd go see the eared boy? He realized his gaze had drifted back down, looking at his neon glove pressed on the table and shot his attention back to Soubi. Something skipped a beat at the innocent smile on the man's face.
"Of course I do." Soubi's smile grew when Kio's face lit up with his answer, the shorter blond tucking hair behind both of his overly pierced ears as he bounced a little on his heels. His friend really was an odd one, but that's why he liked hanging around him- he was never the same for too long- it never got boring. When Kio jumped on him, hugging him fiercely, he put an arm around the other in return before Kio bounced off. One would worry about the smile splitting the boy's face before he put it under taps, trying to restore his normal nonchalance.
"Hey, I'm gonna go put on some friends and call better clothes. Be right back!" Soubi laughed slightly, watching the other practically dance out of the room, not even realizing the mixup of his words. He leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes against the clutter of his apartment. Sometimes he felt bad for leaving Kio alone with his brain- it wasn't fair. Then he stopped feeling so bad when he'd get back and the boy had gone through his stuff. He knew it was just out of Kio's form of friendship. A shout shot into the air, stating that Kio had already contacted enough people to satisfy his group outing.
Soubi stood up finally, hands scattering all the drawings as he pushed off of the table. He turned to call over his shoulder at his friend. "Coming, Kio! Just wait a second." He slung a scarf over his shoulders before heading towards the front door.
((Comments and critiques are awesome. Slap me around if I messed up either of their characters!))
