"Whatever makes you think that?" Wei Yixiao retorted. "No, young girls do not have sweeter blood compared to grown men or ancient relics like ourselves. In fact, if you really want to know, I usually don't take the time to taste their blood."

Zhou Dian seemed to find this revelation annoying. "At least you get to take a closer look at their cute little faces?"

"No. What are you, dumb? When I jump someone and latch onto their throat, they usually raise holy hell, and then I'd be too busy dodging things - sharp things, mostly - to pay attention to anything else. You try it sometimes if you don't believe me."

Peng Yingyu made a benedictory gesture. "Shou Bude and I always pray for the souls of those you have claimed as victims."

"Thank you, fellows. I truly appreciate it."

Not about to be diverted, Zhou Dian went on, "But you said nothing reinvigorates your body like a good long drink. So it can't be that bad all the time. Right?"

Wei Yixiao snorted. "It's not really worth the trouble either. The sooner I'm cured, the easier it will be for everyone. I might feel better about this whole mess if it makes me younger or more handsome, but maybe not even then."
