Zanarkand is

(silent)

always noisy. There’s always something going on- dancers, musicians, blitzers, summoners- Zanarkand (was) is the city that never slept, lights always on.

(pyreflies light it now, and they don’t dissolve on their own- especially not here, not with all the lives lost)

They (were) are all so vibrant, so much so that it almost seems as though the land itself would remember that vibrancy when they were gone (too many to keep all the individuals- the fayth have great power, but their own limits). But hardly anyone thinks of that- its vibrancy makes it strong, makes it hard to contemplate that it could be anything but vibrant.

(and when that vibrancy breaks, it breaks completely.)
