[31 May] [Doctor Who] Crowd
Title: Crowd
Day/Theme: May 31- The 36th alternative
Series: Doctor Who (2008 series)
Character/Pairing: The Doctor, Donna Noble
Rating: G
“See, the difficulty with running in a crowd,” the Doctor says, as comfortably as if he did this every day of his life, which he practically did at times, “is that there’s all these other people around, see? Excuse me.” He elbows his way past a group of ladies and a boy trying to keep his pet (shaped like a dog, but with six legs and a very long tongue). “And then sometimes people try to trip you over because you bumped their sister’s basket or into their father’s stall or something like that, you see?”
“And of course there’s the gabbing,” Donna says, with an eyeroll that the Doctor can’t really see.
“Aw, it’s a gift,” the Doctor says, and she knows he’s grinning since she can just about hear it and well, things just aren’t absolutely dead serious yet.
“Maybe you’d like to think about running faster in a crowd sometimes,” she says instead of trying to hit him, because in a crowd like this she’d probably hit someone else and get into trouble and then lose him. Not that she imagines he wouldn’t come back for her, but it’d be just incredibly embarrassing.
He laughs, and they keep going.
