Dahy took the guitar out of its case and settled on the lounge. He strummed a few notes, and adjusted the strings accordingly. He hadn’t played this in a while, but he wasn’t in the mood to cook or knit tonight, and he was sick of thinking about what the future could hold, so music seemed like a good alternative.

He started with some upbeat pieces, but he didn’t tend to connect well with those, and stopped after playing through a few. He thought for a few moments, tapping the bridge, and reached over for some sheets of music. He didn’t often play this piece, mostly out of a mild fear that someone would work out why he liked it, but he was fond of it, though not all of the rest of the artists’ work.

He arranged the sheets of music so that he could see them all, and started. “Here comes the sun…”
