[8 May] [Okami] Territory
Title: Territory
Day/Theme: May 8- just abnormal enough to survive
Series: Okami
Character/Pairing: Gekigami, Kabegami
Rating: G
The darkness washes over the land, and reaches for the sky. Its gods fall back, and at its heart the darkness smirks. The sky is not the limit; however, it is a most important piece of the puzzle, and having power over this territory will offer it more capabilities, more freedom, than it could manage simply covering the entirety of the world. Taking that wide expanse will deny it to others who might seek refuge there, besides, and it extends itself out into that blueness- only something scratches it on one side, and something strikes it from the other.
“You’re not welcome here,” the cat says from the darkness’ scratched side, standing on the tower that stretches from earth to the heavens. “Go back to where you came from.”
The tiger, on the other side, is less talkative, and more demanding, its roar shaking the darkness’ grip on the heavens.
Furious, the darkness retreats to earth, aiming a blow at the tower joining heaven and earth. The cat jumps before the blow hits, landing neatly on the tiger’s back. The tiger glares, and the cat points at the darkness. “Scold me later,” she says. “First, we have to protect these places.”
The tiger nods, if reluctantly, and turns to chase the darkness back to earth.
