[May 6] [Kingdom Hearts] Fighting Distance
Title: Fighting Distance
Day/Theme: 6 May- Blades don't need reloading
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Character/Pairing: Leon, Aerith
Rating: PG
Leon liked keeping the Heartless at a distance. They’d come close enough to claiming him when he was younger- there was no need to give them any greater opportunity to claim his heart now, when he was older (possibly not wiser, though) and knew how to handle himself and his weapon better.
(Aerith smiled sadly at him, once. “You can’t push everything away,” she said, and he didn’t say anything, because… it was hard to refute Aerith, when she said things like that, that were true but being covered with the pretence that they weren’t.
It had become easier to not push people away as much after they’d returned to Hollow Bastion. Not by much, yet, but her smiles were becoming more cheerful.)
It took more out of him in one way to fight them from a distance, though, and there was something satisfying about slicing through the Heartless and seeing the darkness dissolve.
It mightn’t have been the best way to resolve his issues, but at least he had the option.
