[Mar 28] [Junjou Romantica] A Womans Intuition
Title: A Womans Intuition
Author:
deecherrywolf
Day/Theme: Mar 28 / real faith, my dear, is just a dream
Series: Junjou Romantica
Character/Pairing: Manami / Romantica, TakahiroxManami
Takahashi Manami liked to believe she was good at judging people. She liked to believe she had the intuition to decipher what's going on with people without being told... after all, she had to make up for all the intuition her husband lacked.
And if there was one thing her intuition was telling her, it was that her husband's baby brother wasn't as innocent as Takahiro would like to think. And though she didn't know Takahashi Misaki that well or even saw him often, she made sure to stick around when Takahiro talked on the phone with his baby brother. And slowly, she began to realize just what made Misaki appear not as innocent. There was no way looking around it-
Misaki refused to move in with them.
Misaki refused to move out of Usami-san's home.
Misaki and Usami always seemed to be together...
And the phone calls made her confirm her suspicions as well.
Misaki's in love with Usami Akihiko... and judging by how long the two have been living together, she couldn't help but assume that Usami-san knew and accepted it right back. She was happy for Misaki. Happy that the boy had found happiness. But she wished Takahiro would either notice or Misaki come forward about his relationship with another man.
She looked over at Takahiro, who had just now hung up the phone from talking with said brother, and smiled. She hugged Mahiro close. “So? What did Misaki-kun want?”
Takahiro laughed. “Just giving me an update about Usagi's birthday! As if I'd forget that!”
Manami bit the inside of her cheek, hoping Misaki would forgive her. “Maybe Misaki is so close to Usami-san that he thought it was possible you forgot.”
Takahiro walked over to her, sitting down beside her. “Maybe, you know how Misaki gets. He's so cute.”
Manami smiled warmly. “I'm glad you love your brother so much.”
“Of course! I practically raised him!”
Manami laid a hand on his arm. “And you did a wonderful job... but would you love him no matter what?”
Takahiro's smile grew a little uneven, his eyebrows arching. “What are you saying, Manami?”
“Would you love him if he were blind?”
“Of course! He's still Misaki.”
“If he were unable to move or speak?”
“Yes!”
She paused, knowing the others were extremities, but this had to be said. “If he were gay?”
Takahiro frowned. He sighed. “I don't know what's gotten into you... but yes. Misaki is my brother, my only brother. If he were gay... blind... whatever. I'd still love and accept him. He's my little brother. He'll always be dear to me.”
Manami smiled brightly at him. “I always knew there was a reason I fell in love with you.”
Takahiro blinked in surprise. “Hey now... surely there was more than that.”
Manami laughed, whispering something, causing Mahiro to look confused. Takahiro laughed. “Of course.”
She stood up, handing Mahiro to Takahiro. “I'll get dinner ready... and Takahiro?”
“Hm?”
“I think we should invite Usami-san and Misaki-kun to dinner sometime.”
“Usagi? Why him too?”
Manami winked at him. “Oh, just a womans intuition.”
She strut into the kitchen, leaving a baffled husband behind.
(THE END)
A/N: I like to think that Manami knows more than Takahiro xDD I like to think she'd figure out the whole Usagi-Misaki relationship before Takahiro ever fathoms it. :3
