With You
Tomoyo had sent him away. She had sent Kurogane to help him find himself, to help him learn that true strength doesn't just lie in his skills with the sword he possessed. Despite Kurogane's wishes, she vowed that they wouldn't see each other again until the journey was over and he returned to their country, until he had accomplished the goal set for him. Still, the ninja has found that he sees her and hears her, everywhere he goes.
She's the shadow on the ground, following him and guiding him down the path he was meant to travel.
She's there in his prayers, as he wonders and is desperate to find out how she's doing, and damnit, is she all right, because if she's not, someone's going to pay when he returns.
She's the beat of his heart, because without her, there would be no reason for living, and he refuses to give up as long as he still has her in his life.
She's the moonlight shining down on him each and every night, reminding him that he's made it through the day, and now he's stronger and he's safe, and he's one day closer to coming home.
And as he watches the stars above each and every night, Kurogane wonders if Tomoyo is missing him and looking forward to his return, too.
