[March 11] [Prince of Tennis] Trophies

Title: Trophies
Day/Theme: 11 ~ and I see your progress stretched out for miles and miles
Series: Prince of Tennis/Tennis no Oujisama
Character/Pairing: Tezuka, Ryoma, Tezu/Ryo
Rating: G

When Tezuka and Ryoma moved in together, they decided to make their basement a trophy room. IT was a good idea, because they eventually had too many for any of the other rooms.

Tezuka went down often, mostly because Ryoma didn't care much for good housekeeping.

But why do we have to buy new furniture for this room? He had asked just the other day. It looks fine just the way it is (and by that, he meant empty.)

As a result, all the trophies are put into their respective places, ordered by time and location. He dusts them all once a week at first, but soon has to dust a different section a day because there's too many of them to dust all at once. Tezuka doesn't mind though; it gives him another excuse to visit each and every one.

"Sometimes I think you love the trophies more than me," Ryoma jokes sometimes. Tezuka smiles back, not quite knowing how to reply. Instead, he pulls the smaller boy--no, man--into his arms and they look at the trophies together. They pass many trophies and medals, all big and small, but they always stop at one of them. It wasn't Wimbledon, nor was it the Australian Open. It wasn't the French or US Opens either. No, it had been the Japan Open where Ryoma had one that trophy.

It was the first time they played each other professionally; the beginning of their long road to success. And as they stared at the trophy together, Tezuka couldn't help but think about how far Ryoma had come. When they hard first met, Ryoma hated tennis, but in less than a years' time, he had become the pillar of Seigaku. He continued to grow with every match they played, whether it was official or not.

And he couldn't wait for the next time they would play.
