Title: Letting Go

Day/Theme: Feb 03 / Blossom to blossom to dusty blossom
Series: Junjou Romantica
Character/Pairing: Takahiro, Misaki, Usami / Romantica

He could still remember 8-year-old Misaki clutching to his leg, eyes wide with innocence and curiosity of the world. The memories of raising Misaki into the adult he became today were some of his most treasured memories. And seeing Usami and Misaki together... it was slowly cracking that treasured picture he had of Misaki. His baby brother was an adult now. And though he knew he couldn't really hold his brother back from anything, he still felt the need and urge to protect the last bit of innocence left.

He had thought Usagi-san would have kept Misaki safe and innocent... but he was brought out of that way of thinking when Misaki came out to him. And then he also was informed that his brother was in love with Usagi-san. At first, Takahiro had been happy for the two of them, after all... his brother and his best friend together was a good thing! But then Manami talked to him a little bit, informing him that now that Misaki has officially came out of the closet, things were going to be difficult and they'd need all their support. And with that brought the reality of having a gay little brother. Misaki was never going to have children and never going to be able to marry.

He'd never be an uncle and he'd never be able to see his brother with a beautiful bride. Instead, he'd have to settle with allowing Usagi-san to take his brother away from him, slowly. The fact that Usagi-san had managed to slip into his little brother's heart worried him. What did the man do to turn his brother gay? What had been said... what had been done? Why had he been so blind all this time... how could he not see that the two loved each other so deeply...

And that's what gave Takahiro pause. Because despite being airheaded and overprotective... he knew the two loved each other very much and Usagi-san would never allow harm to come in Misaki's way. And so, Takahiro was able to place that cherished memory of his small 8-year-old brother, with dancing eyes and a happy 'niichan' on his lips into a secluded part of his mind, and allowed Usagi-san to have his brother, body and soul. Knowing his little brother was in good, loving hands.

The End
