[Jan. 15][Riviera] Hurrying to Wash Up
Title: Hurrying to Wash Up
Day/Theme: Jan. 15, 2009 "one wish granted"
Series: Riviera: The Promised Land
Character/Pairing: Lina, Fia, Meute
Rating: G
"Oh, we're back!" Lina squeaked with relief, dashing ahead of the main group back into her house. Sliding on the rug, she nearly bumped her side on the table before making it up the stairs and into the linen closet for an armful of fluffy bath towels. Fia was barely through the door when Lina came crashing down to pull her back out of the house to the spring.
"Um, see you two later, I guess," Ein shrugged.
"I suppose we should use this opportunity to relax for a while," Serene said, "I'm going for a walk," she stretched and departed.
"Excuse us, Meute," Fia spoke up politely, while Lina dropped the towels in a heap on the stone. "I hope you don't mind the two of us bathing here."
"No, n...not...at all," the undine answered in a small, soft voice. She had regained her voice only quite recently due to Ein's effort and speaking still did not come entirely easily to her. "I like your...com...pany."
"Ooh, good, that's great!" Lina heard the response a bit late. It was fortunate that Meute didn't mind because she had already jumped in and dunked her head so that her long hair stuck to her neck and shoulders, turned several shades darker by the water that filled it.
"Next time you should be a bit more patient," Fia scolded lightly, untying the green ribbon in her hair. She wanted to get this dried mud off her face and clothes as soon as possible, but there was still time enough to be polite to the others by the spring. They had walked around dirty like this for over an hour; what difference did five more minutes make?
"Can you pass me my shirt so I can try and scrub the mud out of it, Fia?"
With a small sigh, Fia paused in her undressing to toss Lina her yellow tunic. The younger girl caught the garment and stuffed it into the water. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Fia tugged off her stocking and stepped into the water slowly. It was a bit colder than she preferred because of the shadow cast on the water by the roof of the cave, but after being bruised, battered, and caked in dirt, just the ability to get cleaned up was something of a dream come true.
