[Jan 8] [Junjou Romantica] When You Go
Title: When You Go
Author:
deecherrywolf
Day/Theme: Jan 8 / ghost in the morning moon
Series: Junjou Romantica
Character/Pairing: Hiroki, Nowaki / Egoist
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: This one is kind of sad too... and I'd imagine this more when Nowaki is done with his internship and is a full fledged pediatrics doctor.
The worse part of their work lives was that it barely made room for their personal lives... Kamijou Hiroki would often come home, not to the warm embrace of his lover, but to silence and sometimes a note on the kitchen table, saying how he had left to work. Hiroki couldn't explain the dull pain that he felt each time he saw the notes and an even deeper pain when he didn't. The silence often times became unbearable. And then in the middle of the night, the door would open and Nowaki would crawl into bed in silence and fall asleep. They barely talked and it hurt Hiroki. He had plenty of time after the school day, but Nowaki's day practically began during that time. In sake of their dreams...
It was one morning that Hiroki happened to wake early to see Nowaki gazing at him. He sucked in his breath, shocked at seeing his lover awake. Nowaki brushed strands of Hiroki's hair out of the man's eyes. His own eyes warm with love. Hiroki gulped down the lump in his throat and Nowaki leaned close to him.
“Is everything all right, Hiro-san?”
Hiroki flushed. “Yeah! I... I'm just surprised you're awake, is all.”
“I'm glad I'm awake... I can see Hiro-san.”
Hiroki's heart flopped at that and he still stared at Nowaki. Nowaki wrapped his arms around him and pulled him close and Hiroki closed his eyes, listening to Nowaki's heartbeat. Ah yes... though Nowaki was busy and he generally didn't see much of the man... he always left this presence when he was gone.
Nowaki kissed him, holding him close. The sun was rising, the moon still hanging delicately in the sky. Day and Night... and Hiroki knew that even when Nowaki left, he was still there.
Always.
