[September 6] [CCS] A life
Title: A life
Day/Theme: September 6: Hogwarts, A Life
Series: CCS
Character/Pairing: Eriol
Rating: PG
Notes: ...I don't know what I was thinking. /I/ think it fits the theme, but you probably won't. Oh well. o____o
Eriol thought that he might like to write a book one day. Maybe a magic book. Clow would be the main character, maybe Sakura. Or perhaps a series of romance novels. Tragic stories about Clow and Madoushi, beautiful ones about Sakura and Syaoran. Comedy maybe. Yamazaki's lies and Sakura and Syaoran's gullibility. Ruby Moon and his obsessions. Actually, he wanted to write books about all them—Daidouji-san and her voice, Kaho and her mysteries, Fujitaka and his gentleness. Spinel Sun and his quietness, Keroberos and his eating habits.
He would change their names, of course, for privacy’s sake, and publish it only after their deaths. He was sure that he would outlive them. So sure.
After all, they were all old now. Beautiful still, but old. He looked, ironically the youngest, he thought wryly. Life was tiring—now he was old, but for sure, for sure, he would live a long time. Not forever. But still.
There were so many things that he had seen, and he longed to write them down. So he sat and began. Once upon a time... and closed his eyes.
...
Sakura sat up suddenly, wakened from her sleep. Syaoran stirred beside her. "What is it?" he touched her face gently when he saw that she was crying.
...
Oddly, Eriol was the first to go. The morning after he penned that first line, he was gone.
"It was," Tomoyo said, "so sudden."
"He lived too long," Sakura replied gently and did not cry.
