Summary: Ethel is frustrated with losing the election to Mildred. She has a plan to regain her old position.

The atmosphere of CacklesAcademy seemed to flip since the class president election. Ethel felt humiliated; No Hallow, especially her, should lose to a third class witch like Mildred Hubble. Mildred even got Drusilla to work against her. That was the last straw. She needed to relax so she headed to the school’s library before she lost her temper.

She found great pleasure in going through spell books. She loved to imagine what it be like to cast all of the devious spells she could find on Mildred. But she wouldn’t dare use most of them because of Foster’s affect. As she was examining though the spells one spell in particular caught Ethel’s eye. It was a simple mimicking spell which, from her experience, a simple spells wouldn’t have as much recourse upon caster. The spell worked on innate objects only and it would mimic the behavior of the last person who touched it.

Ethel got a mischievous grin on her face. She could use this to get Mildred out of office. It was an almost flawless plan. There was only one logical person she could use it on. Mildred herself. If she cast it on one of Miss Cackles items it was sure to fail. She therefore decided that she would cast the spell upon Mildred’s pencil and write a letter to Mildred’s parents explaining how she didn’t want to be at Cackle’s anymore and ask them to pick her up. It was perfect in Ethel’s mind. No one would suspect any foul play behind something as innocent as a letter.

Ethel sneaked into Mildred’s room and found the pencil she on the dresser. She quickly chanted the spell on the writing utensil and watched it illuminated for a few moments before it went back to its normal state. Ethel grabbed the enchanted pencil and put it in her pocket then headed to class.

After advance potion’s class Ethel wrote the letter to Mildred’s family. She examined the letter carefully. It looked like her classmate’s writing; she had even gotten a sample of Mildred’s writing for comparison. She was pleased with the results.
