[Jan. 2][Koi Cupid] Act Natural

Title: Act Natural
Day/Theme: Jan. 2, 2009 "la vie en rose"
Series: Koi Cupid
Character/Pairing: Ai, Hiro/Yukari
Rating: G

It wasn't always easy to be a cupid-in-training, but Ai had to admit that it was usually a whole lot of fun. Like the other day with Shoko-chan and Atsushi-kun, or the night she spent with Kagome-san and Rikushiro-san (and his funny granddaughter). This seemed to be shaping up to be another mission of that sort. Hiro-kun had been happy to write a note for Yukari-chan, but he was afraid to give it to her, so while they walked from the dorm building to school, Ai snuck his love letter into Yukari's schoolbag.

Ai watched surreptitiously that morning from outside of the school, hiding in a tree, to make sure that Yukari read the note (she did, between classes when the paper fell out after she pulled out her math book). At lunch, Ai approached Yukari on the roof. "Hi Yukari-chan! I'm Cupid Ai! You got Hiro-kun's note, right?" she asked sweetly.

"Th-that's right," Yukari stammered. She didn't really believe in cupids or angels or things like that, but with all the strange things she had seen in her life, how could she really question it?

"And I can tell that you love Hiro-kun too, even if it's harder for you to admit it, but you don't have to worry, Yukari-chan, since I'm here you know you're meant to be together. Just write a love letter back to Hiro-kun and we can go deliver it."

Yukari shuffled her feet. Ai liked her pink tennis shoes. "I, um, this is just sort of out of character for me. I'm not the type of girl who goes for this kind of mushy stuff. ...Well, I don't mind getting something like that from Hiro, but it's not something I'm good at doing."

"Then, just write the way you'd usually write to Hiro-kun, but tell him that you love him. It doesn't have to be a sonnet or anything complicated like that."

"Uh, sure," Yukari laughed nervously. Maybe she wasn't really getting enough sleep lately and this was a hallucination. She leaned against the wall and scribbled, "Hiro, I love you too. ...But don't act weird about it or anything." She folded over the page and stuck it into one of Ai's tiny envelopes.

"Just perfect, Yukari-chan!" Ai cheered and held out her hand, "Let's go look for Hiro-kun!" And Ren and Koi always wondered how she managed so easily. It was because she was always sure that things would turn out right.
