It was a rather cold January for the 11-year-old Kamijou Hiroki and he was definitely bundling up to go visit his friend in their secret base. Of course said base had been solely his until one Usami Akihiko had found it as well. His smile was large and full of happiness as he took the familiar route and that smile only brightened as he saw Akihiko there, sitting on a make shift seat of a stone and blanket, holding a notebook. Hiroki eyed the other boy as he moved his pencil quickly, every so often looking up at the sky and then continuing to write. Hiroki shifted, flushing lightly. “What're you writing?”
“Just stuff.”
“Hmm.”
Akihiko had been known to make short answers, so it wasn't a shock the other boy didn't really say. He sighed and fell back in the snow, looking up at the sky, watching random snow flakes fall and the puffs of his breath float into the air. Soon the area became warmer and he looked over at Akihiko, who now lay beside him, mimicking him. Hiroki flushed and looked back up. The two of them lay there, just watching the gray sky spit out snow and their breaths create small vapor clouds in the air. Both content with the world and Hiroki felt warmer than he'd ever been this winter.
