[September 6] [Harry Potter/xxxHolic] Boredom
Title: Boredom
Day/Theme: September 6/Hogwarts: A Life

Yuuko looked through her newest treasure, a book titled Hogwarts: A History. She wondered if the little witch she got the book from realized how it really came about. Smiling, Yuuko thought back to a time that so few knew the real history of.
The school was off to a great start, although she remembered all the problems that the founders had encountered while building it. Yuuko knew that she probably could have helped and made things a lot easier for them, but none of the founders were really willing to pay the price, and although she might have considered them friends, of a sort, she would not work for free... it just wasn’t done.
Now the only problem seemed to be that the students were gone, and the founders suddenly had a lot more free time; which translated into that everyone was suddenly overcome with boredom. Yuuko, being in a practically good mood that day, offered a reasonable solution… drinking sake while the others tried to figure out something to with their free time during the rest of the summer.
It had been during that particular drinking session that the founders had had the brilliant idea to begin a book that revolved around the school, called Hogwarts: A Life; which was fitting considering that the school’s name had of course come from an earlier drinking session. In any case the book ended up being Salazar Slytherin’s and Rowena Ravenclaw’s baby or at the very least a time consuming pet project. The two ended up spending months creating it, and then they both constantly spent time updating it.
Of course the book was a lot more interesting than one might think, as both of them added a lot of side notes about the other two founders, students, and many other things. In fact there were whole sections dedicated on explaining how one could annoy certain people, namely Godric Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff.
Yuuko chuckled as the memory faded, she idly wondered what the little witch would think if she knew that the book was started out of boredom, and continued as some sort of running joke/stress relief for Salazar and Rowena.
