He had been curious for so long, about his creators, about the world they had abandoned, what it all meant, what all it could mean. He had followed EVE back out of instant love and devotion, the dread of loneliness and ignorance, and the burning need for more.
And more was what he had found. He found out why his masters had left, what they had become to avoid confronting their own failures, and what they would do to remove any evidence of it. That included him, but didn’t matter that much to him. He was amazed at how much they had, so much so that he didn’t even notice how little it meant to them.
Satisfying his curiosity was one thing. EVE was another. For her he had left all he had known, and for her he gave up all that he was, and for her, he had come back for more.
