"Explain one thing," Ishida said.
"Huh?" Ikkaku replied.
"Why does your Captain go for that ripped-off-sleeve look?" Ishida asked, leaning forward. "It's not as if he doesn't have normal sleeves, so it can't be to have his arms bare."
"Naah," Ikkaku said. "See, what happened, we'd just got to Seireitai, and Zaraki-taichou had just become Zaraki-taichou by whacking the previous captain. And then Yachiru-fukutaichou needed her nappy changing. So the Captain looks round for the nearest bit of clean white material, and . . . well, after that, he really didn't like the idea of having sleeves on his coat."
"Oh," Ishida said.
