[Nov. 20, 2008][Tales of Legendia] Many Unhappy Returns
Title: Many Unhappy Returns
Day/Theme: Nov. 20, 2008 "____'s no good, very bad day"
Series: Tales of Legendia
Character/Pairing: Norma, Moses
Rating: G
"I can't believe this!" Norma squealed indignantly, flailing her arms and stamping her feet.
"You look like a regular little hurricane, Bubbles!" Moses laughed. He leaned back, with his hands on his hips, as he usually did and took the time to enjoy a long, hard chuckle at Norma's comical distress.
"It's not funny, Red!" the treasure hunter objected, giving the bandit a shove.
With his balance off from leaning back so far, Norma was able to knock him over easily without even trying. Moses fell on his butt, whining about how unjust the situation was. "You think that's bad? You haven't heard about my awful day," Norma shot back at him. Honestly, why didn't anyone ever take her seriously? Sure, it made sense most of the time, but when she was this frustrated and upset...
"Ah, calm down," Moses stumbled to his feet, almost falling on his face after getting one foot tangled in his loose pants. "It can't be all that bad."
"Well, it is," Norma crossed her arms.
"Tell me 'bout it."
"This morning, when I was getting ready to go out, I realized that my collector's book was gone! Either it was stolen or I accidently dropped it somewhere. And I was 97% finished with that thing! I was finally going to complete it and it's gone! I've been looking for it all day and I haven't found a thing."
"Well, that sounds bad," he considered it, "But it could've been worse. I mean, it's not as bad as when ya got poisoned an' almost died, right?"
"Yeah, but that's not the end of it," Norma continued, "While I was searching, I dropped my bubble pipe over the side of one of the bridges into the water and it got swept away. When I took a break under a tree a big spider fell down onto me. I went to the bakery to get a snack and it turned out the milk was old and had gone sour and it made me sick to my stomach for hours, so I haven't eaten anything else all day. I tried to get C to help me, but she was too busy to even listen to my story! ...And some snotty-nosed brat ran into me in the street and I fell down and skinned my knee!"
"Wow," Moses admitted, "This is an awful day."
"That's for sure," Norma agreed. Actually, she felt a little better now that someone had commiserated with her.
"And, heck, Bubbles, there's one good thing about a day this bad. You know tomorrow has jus' got to be better," Moses ruffled her hair.
"Hey, cut that out!" she giggled.
