The knock on the door came when Melody was barely awake. "All right, all right, I'm coming..." she muttered in Starsailor.
She opened the door, to see that Riki was wearing more clothing than a second-hand store. "It is snowing!" His scarf muffled his voice. With his accent, it made her tempted to insist on telepathy.
"Yes. It does that here."
"I never have seen snow before, Melody. I want to see it fully before we go to school."
Melody turned to grab her coat. "Give me a second, and I can show you an old Earth tradition. The snowball."
