[Nov 16][Wormhole][Partnerships]

Title: Partnerships are strained by the weirdest things.
Day/Theme: November 16 // misunderstandings stemming from contrasting courting styles.
Series: Wormhole (original)
Character/Pairing: Alex Raskin
Rating: G

"So what do you think? Should I go for it?"

Alex glanced up, a look of revulsion on her face. "No, Raskin, I do not think you should 'go for it'. That woman is clearly mentally incapable."

The shape-shifter nodded, clearly not having heard a word from his partner. "Thanks." He was standing over her, masking his covert observation of the woman in question.

The female mercenary rolled her eyes, and pointed the way to the bar. "Tch. Go and get her something to drink. I won't be held accountable for the consequences."

Raskin strolled over to the woman with easy grace. The drink was offered with the same self assurance, and the conversation began well. But...

"Won't your boyfriend be mad that you're talking to me?" The statement was accompanied by fluttering lashes and big, gorgeous blue eyes looking into his.

"Wh-what?" Raskin stuttered, momentarily jolted from his routine. "Who?"

A hand waved, indicating the general direction of his partner. "That cute boy with the braid. You came in with him..."

The shocked expression faded. "Oh, you mean Alex. Naw, she's not my 'boyfriend'."

"Could have fooled me! Are you from one of those polygamist species?"

A laugh. "No, no. We're not dating. She's just my 'business partner.' We're here on a job." The shape shifter smiled convincingly. "It's very secret. Would you like me to tell you about it?"

Else where, Alex rolled her eyes again. The word 'promiscuous' didn't even begin to describe Raskins habits. And she didn't know how many cities they'd been kicked out of as a result of it. Not that she would complain. To him, that would just suggest that she was interested.

"Perish the thought." The mercenary muttered to herself. Affection for Raskin was the last thing she needed.
