"You're in love! I can see it in your eyes." A girl in gym class remarked sickeningly ecstatically. She said there was "lovelight" in my eyes but she and the other girls clammered around me were the only ones bright eyed.

I was apathetic.

They said i felt something but I felt nothing. I didn't pine with all my heart of think of him sweeping me off my feet, turning me into a bubbling mess. He was just a guy I happened to be dating.

In the end, that was the fate of every boy I dated. Given a high ranking but treated no different than a friend or scum.

I should have known why the moment I ran away from a boy expecting me to kiss him. I should have known indefinitely the day I cornered a girl and forced a kiss on her rigid lips.
