There were not words for how he despised them. The Fallen. The Hidden. Trapped in the elements. Disguising what they had once been in God’s own creations of earth, air, and water. No fire, he noticed. Perhaps they were too glad to not be contained in Hell to immerse themselves in flame. Perhaps it was the only element denied them.
He hated them like he hated his father, hated the world, hated everything. He could only see the three as he saw those things also, as something to be ruined, dominated, altered to his whims, and destroyed as he saw fit.
But they would stand by him, out of fear, and hope that they might finally win against Hell as they had lost against Heaven. The disgraced Fallen. The cowardly Hidden. They followed him through the dark, looking for the place where holy ground had been paved over, where 1000 souls had drowned in their own sins.
