[November 9th] [Sonic the Hedgehog] Holiday Fear
Title: Holiday Fear
Day/Theme: November 9th/ the “i accept your apology, but you make me really mad sometimes” kiss
Series: Sonic the Hedgehog (In general, not ‘06)
Character/Pairing: Shadow/Amy, All characters
Rating: General
HUMOR!
Notes: Fluff. My first ShadAmy! Yay. There will be a POV switch from Amy to Shadow, I hope it’s not overly abrupt, but really, it probably is. Oh well.
Chise means- Little star; torrent of wisdom
It was Christmas Eve, and even with all the planning, decorating, and gift-buying she did, she had not anticipated this.
Half of her Gingerbread mobians had disappeared from the cookie jar, one third of her super-special holiday cake was gone, and well… there were some other random sweets missing as well.
And a leg from her beautiful turkey. Let’s not forget that, with its limb torn right off, ruining her picture-perfect bird, let alone dinner.
Someone was going to die for this. Or at least, be beaten half-way to oblivion via steel-enforced piko hammer.
Her other weapon of choice from over the years was a tad too lethal to use over food spats.
Moving away from weapon-choice, she would find him and beat him… oh yes she would. She had her suspicions course since she had grown to know and love the number one suspect involved, but first, she would go out to where the others were and locate that speed-freak.
Did you think she was talking about Sonic? Oh no, even he was smart enough to stay away from her food before serving. He’d learned that the hard way, by being shoved into the oven that Christmas.
Amy smoothed her long quills in the half-bathroom near the kitchen, making sure they weren’t sticking out of place. Moving on to her deep-green Christmas dress, she smoothed out a wrinkle or two before going out into the hall and into the main living room where the party guests were visiting (or in some cases, fighting) with each other.
She smiled as she watched Tails interact with a young plant-child who had been named Chise as the others told stories. Chise was the child that had grown from Cosmo’s seed given to the fox by Sonic years ago, and she had grown into the little wonder she was today. It had taken a few years for that odd little miracle to happen, and Amy had luckily been privileged to be the one with Tails when the little plant-mobian had been born out of seemingly nowhere. Amy loved the color of her pink lily-buds and skirts, long leafy/curly hair, blue eyes and dark magenta gem from day one.
Next, she took in Knuckles and Cream having what seemed to be a friendly conversation off to the side from the main story-telling, seemingly remembering some adventure the two had found themselves upon when she was still young.
Amy smiled to herself, wondering just how many adventures on their own they’d had without telling anyone. Herself included, especially since one of those adventures had been a turning point in her affections of one hedgehog to another.
Speaking of which, she still had some quills to smash.
She finished observing the room as Sonic, Rouge, Vanilla, the Chaotix, and Shadow completed the little circle of friends present. Amy smirked to herself, taking note of Shadow’s appearance. Sure, he seemed silent and stoic as ever, but being as she was the best at reading him, she could see the extreme difference from his usual behavior, and sugar-induced.
Why, she was the first to experience his sugar craze.
As soon as Amy had walking into the room, Shadow knew, without a doubt, he was in deep, deep trouble. He remembered the Sonic oven-dive incident from a few years back. Heck, he’d even chuckled a little. He should have and did know better, but… her pastries, wait no, her cooking in general was rather delicious, but…
Damn those sweets for being so inexplicably good, and his uncontrollable need for them! He never should have let the once 13 year old girl shove them down his throat!
He spent the better half of seven years randomly returning to her house to get those tasty treats every-so-often, lowering himself, the Ultimate Life Form, to grocery shopping every time!
This was what her pastries brought him to. Complete and utter sugar frenzy, like a drunk man needing his spirits.
It was pathetic.
After much fidgeting on his part (causing the others to start to notice how Amy was looking at him like a cat about to eat the canary and how unlike himself he was acting) their gazes met.
He would never forget that evil, evil smile that was directed at him. Sonic shuddered so hard, his quills chattered.
“Shadow? Can I have a word with you?”
Knuckles felt himself tense for battle, “Run man, run while you still can!”
Tails grabbed Chise and prepared himself for the chance of needing to dodge the two hedgehogs.
Amy, while not as fast as Sonic and Shadow, she was still able to run up to 200 mph.
That had taken some intense training. That was for sure.
Cream stood carefully, “Now Amy, you don’t want to ruin your pretty dress, do you?”
Amy looked at the young teen rabbit with determination, “Why of course not. Why would I risk ruining it? I just want to have a nice, civil conversation with Shadow.”
Sonic curled in a little to himself in his seat, “Yeah, and that’s what you said just before you tossed me into the hell-closet.”
Amy rolled her eyes as Shadow braced himself and stood (were his knee’s shaking?), “There’s nothing to worry about, Sonic.”
With that, he walked to the kitchen (and in the opinion of the others, his death) silently. Amy rolled her eyes, “You guys just wait a minute, and then I’ll bring out dinner, alright?”
Everyone nodded silently, and just as she left Tails piped up, “I wonder if we’ll have roasted hedgehog this year, I hear it‘s a new festive trend.”
There was a collective shudder.
Shadow, for what it was worth, stayed still and quite. Amy could respect that, it was better then Sonic’s sporadic behavior. She smiled, “Now, Shadow… who took the cookie from the cookie jar?”
He shifted from one foot to the other nervously like a little child, knowing the others were watching right around the corner. He couldn’t help but blush at his folly, “It was me.”
“And my cake?”
“That and the turkey leg.”
Amy nodded and crossed her arms, “Now, what do you think would be a proper punishment?”
He stared at the floor like a dejected child for a few minutes before looking up at her with a sad-yet-mischievous look (he got unusually random when buzzed from sugar) before he suddenly appeared right next to her, grabbed her, and gave her a breathtaking kiss before stepping back smirking.
Amy, confused for a moment recollected herself, trying to fight her deep scarlet blush as she huffed, “Fine. I accept your apology, but sometimes… you just make me so mad.”
He hugged her around the waist once more, smiling nicely, “Yes, but it was worth it, wasn’t it? Merry Christmas.” He kissed her as he hid a small ring in the back of her dress, causing her to jerk back, squawk and hit him as he ran out the door laughing. The others simply stood surprised at what they had seen, having not known the two hedgehogs were going out, let alone in love.
Everyone would remember that Christmas as the one that Shadow almost got himself killed over cookies and a really, really crappy marriage proposal.
