[Nov. 9, 2008][Tales of Legendia] Reconciliation
Title: Reconciliation
Day/Theme: Nov. 9, 2008 "the "i accept your apology, but you make me really mad sometimes" kiss
Series: Tales of Legendia
Character/Pairing: Fenimore/Shirley
Rating: PG
Vaclav's armored vehicles bumped up and down uncomfortably over the lumpy road through the mountains. Shirley held onto the bars of the cage she and Fenimore were being kept in to stop from continuously sliding around, but it didn't do much to put an end to the sudden jolts. She had already hit her head against the bars several times.
Fenimore, weakened by her harsh treatment at the hands of their captors, didn't appear to have the energy to hold herself in place and so she slid back and forth slightly with the movement of the vehicle. She had been very quiet for the duration of the ride. Shirley bit her lip anxiously. Fenimore was obviously still angry over hearing about Senel. Why wouldn't she be reasonable and see that Senel was no different from any other person? Shirley hated knowing Fenimore was so upset with her. Fenimore was her only ally in this situation until Senel showed up to save her. It wouldn't do any good for them to be at odds at this point.
"F-Fenimore," the small girl spoke up nervously, "I'm sorry I upset you. I didn't want to make you mad. I was only being honest."
At first her fellow Ferines didn't respond, but after an uncomfortable moment, where Shirley hit the back of her head against the bars one more time, Fenimore grudgingly answered her. "I know you didn't mean it. You're just an honest person. ...I just couldn't believe that you didn't know what's been happening to our people! How did you manage to be ignorant of all the destruction? You said you had a sister, right?"
"...I guess I had seen what Vaclav could do," Shirley admitted, "But I didn't realize that it was happening to lots of Ferines... I thought they'd come to our village for a specific reason."
Fenimore smiled just a little. She hadn't forgotten how Shirley spoke about that Orerines man, but being angry wasn't doing her any favors. She scooted over to Shirley's side. Shirley took one of her arms off the bars and put it around Fenimore's shoulders to help support her companion. "Thank you," the injured girl replied. Shirley could tell it was hard for Fenimore to put aside her feelings about the matter, so she truly appreciated the effort.
Slowly, Fenimore turned her head and placed a light kiss on Shirley's cheek. "We'll get through this together," she promised.
