Let's say spoilers up through episode 32, although really it's more just the preview for 33 XD (with some vague speculation that will probably be Jossed in a week)

------------------
It's hard to say when things changed. When it stopped being the three of them side by side (a few steps behind Kiryu because he was the leader but otherwise they were equal) and started being Yusei and Jack with Crow just a little bit off to the side. Not pushed away by any stretch, simply not quite fitting the same way as he had the day before.

Not that Crow made a deal out of it. There isn't really anything to make a big deal of. Simply a vague sensation of distance and he hides his perplexed frown behind the usual smile as he tries (and fails) to figure the whole thing out.

It takes a week. And he only learns because he catches them.

They don't know that he knows, the pair of them far too wrapped up in each other (low murmurs back and forth followed by a slight, rumbling, laugh from Jack, a vague smile from Yusei, and then a kiss) to notice Crow, once again, just a little bit off to the side and feeling more distant than ever.

If asked, he couldn't quite say that it bothered him (except it did) or why it left this icy little fist in the centre of his chest other than the fact that he wonders why they overlooked him. Why he isn't worthy of being wrapped up close in all of this too, just like always.

And he wishes he didn't know, because at least then every glance that passed between them wasn't painful and all he had to do was hide his confusion and not this petulant need to start screaming, "But what about me?"

When things change. When Kiryu vanishes, when Jack pulls that douchebag move of his and runs to the city, Crow knows things could easily change. Give it a month and it could easily be him and Yusei and maybe Yusei wouldn't forget about Jack and would more than likely always remain obsessive and irritable about it but it would just be the two of them.

And that's the problem, it would just be the two of them. Nowhere near the same in his eyes without Jack around and Crow soon enough distances himself as well. Ignoring the aching little stab in his heart just as he always has.
