Title: Myth-makers and Light-chasers.
Day/Theme: November 2: hidden and open subcultures
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: A Truth-Teller and a Myth-Maker
Rating: PG

The Myth-makers were beautiful, serene creatures. They hid in shadows and observed history as it happened. But every culture, every species, has a dark side. And while the Myth-makers observed and retold history they warped it, hiding ugly truths behind poetry and prose, erasing the monstrosities of time and replacing them with tales and stories.

The Myth-maker fled, her veils flying around her in a cloud as her feet pounded against the pavement. The hunters came fast behind her, horses whipped into a frenzy by their eager riders. Her white garments marked her as a truth-teller, a highly regarded historian among her people. Her words held the facts of history, not sullied by the soothing half-lies that her brethren used. And here, in the city of Caleenhanus, truth was frowned upon.

A city built on lies. It was a place she should have never come to. But it was her duty to ensure that all myths retained a grain of truth to them. One could not simply abandon a duty programmed into her very soul. So she ran, looking for an exit, a way to escape from the mad mob behind her.

And there an ally found her, grasped her arm and pulled her to safety, hiding her white robes behind a cloak of darkness. He pulled her back, back into the shadows; protecting her with the lies that so easily fell from his lips. And there he hid her, behind lies and subterfuge, protecting his companion from the city as easily as he protected the city from her blinding truths and terrible revelations.
