[04-09-05] [xxxholic] Is that a wish?
Title: Is that a wish?
Day/Theme: 4-9-05/ Wish
Series: xxxholic
Character/Pairing: Dômeki, Yûko
Rating: Again with the 'G'.
Note: I really like the idea of this one, but the execution suffered for lack of time. Alas.
Dômeki shifted his umbrella and sighed. “Why is Watanuki so blind?”
“Do you really want the answer to that?”
He didn’t even bother to turn his head. “No. In fact, Cousin, what I really want is to have a simple and honest conversation with you that doesn’t disintegrate into a pushy sales pitch.”
“You’d rather work all of this out for yourself, wouldn’t you?” Yûko asked, rather rhetorically, twirling her umbrella so that the rain whipped off of it in a splashing mini-torrent.
Dômeki dodged it. “Yes.”
“That side of the family always was a little strange.”
“Funny, Mother always said the same thing.”
Yûko reached out to pinch his cheek lightly. “I am glad that my part time help found you for me, little Cousin. So happy, in fact, that I’ve been doing you a service for free.”
“Really.”
“I have been nudging him in your direction, you know. Subtly.”
“That’s probably just made it worse.”
“So cynical, so jaded. He needs a little shove now and again. He’s very…set in his ways…is our Watanuki.”
“Very. If I could only understand him better…”
“Is that wish?”
“Absolutely not.”
