Ever since they had met Yoko and made it to the surface, night had become one of Simon's least favorite time. The surface at night was scary... the fear of gunmen was always present and lots of nights, while he tried sleeping, he'd eventually wake up, thinking they were under attack.

This night was like any other, except Kamina was close by, cleaning his sword. He heard Simon rustle around in his sleep. He watched his makeshift little brother move around, eyebrows drawn in tightly. Kamina smiled gently. Simon, though not a child, was not a man yet. Things that go bump in the night still scared him. He gently peeled the blankets up and slipped beside Simon, putting a strong arm around him. Simon's eyes snapped open and he looked at Kamina.

“A-Aniki?”
Kamina grinned. “Don't worry Simon... there isn't anything that will harm you, not while I'm here.”
Simon frowned, but accepted the contact anyways. He had not expected Kamina to get in bed with him. He peered up at his aniki, eyes widening when he saw Kamina looking down at him.

Kamina smiled. “Goodnight, Simon.”
A gently kiss was pressed against his lips. Simon almost forgot to breathe... almost.
“Goodnight... aniki.”

And he was able to sleep through the bumps in the night.
