Ushio sat beneath an old oak tree on the school campus, her dress covered with the fall leaves that fell every so often with a soft brush of wind. Her eyes remained trained on the young woman in circled by friends, the student council members, minus herself.
Jealously licked at her wounds as she tried hard to be happy for her best friend. But just the thought of the Emperor’s arms around her Haine caused her only to see red.
All these happy people...Maguri finally admitted his feelings for Maora. He seemed excited that for once, the two could be comfortably happy with each other. Ushio scoffed. It only taken Maora to go back his old ways of being male and kissing Haine for Maguri to get it right. And of course the Platinum didn’t mind being used as it helped them close the gap they needed to cross so desperately. Yet the little heiress made of point of being told she didn’t wish to be used as her father had.
Haine seemed to sense her watchful eyes as she turned her own on her before giving her a cheerful smile that both delighted and yet shattered Ushio’s heart. Why couldn’t that smile be caused by her? Letting go of her lover’s hand, Haine made her way to her, arms reaching out to give her a hug that would most likely burn at her heart wrenching wounds that refused to be healed. But like always, a smile pulled at her lips as the scent of her friend clouded her thoughts and the sound of the girl calling her name made her heart skip a beat.
Stupid, happy people.
