"Oooh, this is just too much!" Norma stomped out of her room at the inn. Chloe looked up from the chair, where she was waiting for the unreliable treasure hunter, to see her friend marching down the stairs. "C! It's terrible!" she exclaimed.

"Nothing could be so terrible that you need to make all that noise," the innkeeper groaned from behind the counter.

"I've gained three pounds since I started following Senel and the rest of you around," Norma sighed. "It's just terrible! How could I gain weight while I'm getting all this exercise!"

"Uh, well, maybe it's your diet," Chloe ventured cautiously. She didn't want Norma taking offense and blowing up in her face. It was bad enough that she had to deal with this in the first place. Why did Norma always have to come to her with her problems...

"C, you must be right!" Norma brightened, "It's all that bread! I'll just try that low-carb diet that's all the rage on the mainland and boom! Kapow! Faster than I can kick a control panel, I'll be svelte and stylish as ever!"

"Uh, sure," Chloe muttered. There was nothing to be gained by further discussion. Once Norma had latched onto an idea, there was just no stopping her.

Chloe avoided Norma for the next few days. She had had her fill of fuss and nonsense for the week. "C! There you are!" Norma yelled, darting out from the shadow of the bakery. Chloe sighed as the bubbly girl latched onto her arm. "My low-carb diet has been a blast! I've lost two pounds already!"

"That's, uh, nice," Chloe agreed.

"Norma, Chloe, there you are!" Shirley ran up to the pair, "Are you ready to get going?"

"Always ready!" Norma cheered.

"Except when you're sleeping in the middle of the day," Chloe muttered to herself.

Their trip to the starboard cabin went smoothly enough until around lunchtime when the group sat down for a quick meal. "Let's see what we packed," Grune sang, opening the basket up. "Hmm, we've got bagels, sandwiches, apple pastries, and muffins!"

"Is-isn't there anything that's not mainly bread?" Norma wondered.

"Umm, I don't think so," the aqua-haired woman peered into the wicker basket.
"What's wrong with bread?" Will asked sternly.

"Nothing really. I'm just on this diet where I don't eat anything with lots of carbohydrates," Norma shrugged.

"How foolish!" Will lectured her mercilessly, "A balanced diet is important to good health! As long as you travel with us, you'll eat bread or you'll starve!"

Norma watched the others eat for approximately five minutes before her willpower failed. "I'm going to get fat~" she sobbed as she bit into a muffin. It was all Will could do not to hit her (after all, she might choke).
