[03-09-05] [Fruits Basket] Aspiration
Hello. I just joined this community, and this will be my (obviously) first contribution here. I am quite glad I found this place. ^^
Title: Aspiration

Day/Theme: September 3rd: being as yet but a girl

Length: 160 words
Tooru hummed cheerily as she washed the dishes. She really did enjoy cleaning, the repetitiveness of it. It allowed for reflection, which she oft sucumbed to.
Oh, mom, she thought, things are going really well. Yuki and Kyou seem to be getting on a bit better, and they don’t fight nearly as much as they used to…Well, they did take down the north wall yesterday…But still! It’s progress. And all of the Soumas are so nice. And I’m doing well in school. I wonder if you would be proud of me.
She smiled, and finished the last of the dishes, placing the final one in the rack to dry. Removing the gloves, she leaned down, putting them away in the cupboard under the sink, still humming jovially.
Things really are going well, mom. And one day, maybe…She stood up, and gazed at the photo of her mother, which she had placed near her. I’ll be as worthy a woman as you were.
