[August 5] [Wall-E] Simple as That

Title: Simple as That
Day/Theme: August 5: Supply and demand.
Series: Wall-E
Character/Pairing: Buy-N-Large
Rating: G

You wanted, you got. They wanted, they got. Simple as that.

There was no reason everyone couldn’t have exactly what they wanted to be 'comfortable'. It could be made in massive amounts and distributed cheaply enough that every single person could have more than enough. The debris and by-products did pile up, but that was just proof of the success, they told themselves.

They told themselves that until the debris was more plentiful than the products that generated it. How had that happened? With trash in ready supply, the masses demanded it be removed, and there was no reason that couldn’t be done in a cheap, mass-produced way either.

The little E class series were solar-powered. They would go as long as the sun glared down through the filthy haze, and even the most pessimistic of the scientists in research agreed that the sun wouldn’t go out on them anytime soon. BNL took that in stride. It would only take a few years to get this straightened out, by their calculations, and in the meantime, they had the entire world as a captive consumer base for a whole line of new products.

BNL was in the business of giving the customers whatever they wanted. They had wanted a sea of products for this and that. BNL had delivered. They had wanted rid of the mess and BNL had given them escape as well. They had wanted to be catered to, and BNL had made sure it would happen, so sure that even hundred of years after BNL no longer existed, their customers still wallowed with every whim met.
