Duo eyed the notebook and the pen hovering just about the first page in suspicion, and released a long sigh as he settled down in the vacant chair across his guest.

"All right, Heero. What is it this time?"

His guest used his pen to tap the page, thoughtful and waiting for something (Duo had no idea what), before the rhythmic clatter stopped at mid three-fourth range.

"I'm part of a new research program." Heero began.

Duo nodded, not saying anything.

"About visceral love amongst animals." Heero finished, looking down over his notebook meaningfully.

"Sounds gross." Duo commented with a frown. "Why do you guys even want to find out about animals eating each other's guts after a heavy mating session?"

"So you know what it means." There was this underlying meaning behind those words that got under Duo's skin for some reason.

Duo snatched the notebook from Heero's hands and used it to thwack him.
