She is Nicole, reveling in attention, drowning in it with her softsleek blond hair and smokey blue eyes that turn faces wherever she goes. And she is unashamed. And it is not regret she feels, nor is it sorrow, rather a sort of vindictive pleasure when he spots her again, amidst this crowd of people. She is pleased to find that his eyes follow her, but it is not in love that they look at each other but revulsion (for there were too many mistakes made in the past and not enough words that could be taken back).
She is Nicole, so she teases him, mal intent coursing through her, but he ignores her (and she admits to herself that she would have been disappointed had he not because the man she knows is stronger than that). In the middle of this glitz and glamour, she meets the fragment of her past that she'd thought she'd left behind and her lips twich into a tiny smile because it's all so very hilarious isn't it? Yes, she thinks so in a bittercruel way and the taste of betrayal never really quite left her tongue.
