[September 3] [Original] Easier.
Title: Easier
Day/Theme: September 3 - Being as yet but a girl
Series: Original
Character: Keara
Rating: Gen
She often spent her time with the younger kids, just because they couldn’t complain of her presence. It was either that, or spend time with the adults. She couldn’t very well bully them, now, could she? The younger ones were always willing to humour her, and though she thought a little less of them that way, she appreciated their efforts nevertheless.
Life was difficult when more than three-fourths of the population in the Orphanage On Crack was made up of boys. She used this to her advantage, she really did, but sometimes, there was a frustrating lack of someone like her to talk to.
Oh no, she wasn’t lonely. Annoyed, perhaps, at having to tolerate confused looks whenever she mentions things only women would know, and a little infuriated at the way the adults would look down on her, but never lonely. She was, after all, privileged to be unique in a sea of children.
She could always talk to the Fag, but she refused to. Not because they were rivals for the affections of someone, but because he was so much more condescending than she was. The rest of the people here age were wimps, or boring, or exceedingly tiring to keep up with. The people just a little older than she was were either against her, or with the Fag.
So the younger ones had been her only choice.
“Where’s the mug of coffee I asked you to bring me?” she snapped at the short, dark-haired boy with eerily blank green eyes as she ended her musings. He blinked up at her and scurried away.
It wasn’t an entirely bad choice to have.

Unedited. Completely Random. I need to sleep now.
And, I missed the posting date of this Kuroro + Kurapika Hunter X Hunter fic for September 1.
