“You’re by yourself? A Saturday without Face and Jamie?” Kenneth asked when Lien walked into the compound.

“Face is spending the weekend with Alice. I guess that for once he couldn’t come up with an excuse to simply disappear.” Lien seemed amused by it. In the past months, Face had spent less and less time working on his marriage and instead spent most weekends with Lien and her son Jamie much to his wife’s dismay.

“And where did you leave Jamie?”

“Oh, don’t worry about him. I found someone to babysit for me.” She sat down next to Kenneth. “I’m usually not very fond of it because I want to know the person my child is being alone with but I think I found someone I can trust. Before I left, I watched them together and he seemed to enjoy the toys more than Jamie does.”

The description sounded familiar and suddenly, Kenneth noticed that it was suspiciously quiet. “You’re not talking about Wes, are you?”

“Yes, I am. Why?”

“Because I think that Jamie will be the one who’ll have to babysit Wes.”
