At the end of another school day, Kyon turned in his seat, and found an irritated Haruhi staring at a schedule book.

"Forget an appointment?" Kyon asked.

"I haven't done one new and exciting thing all day today," Haruhi grumbled.

"So?" Kyon said. "Join the club."

Haruhi held her calendar in Kyon's face. "We only have about 22,000 days to live!! I've already used up a few thousand of mine!! I've got to make every day count!!"

"Well," Kyon said, "you've repeatedly annoyed me today. Does that count?"

"I said new and exciting!" Haruhi snapped. "I annoy you every day!!"
