Most of the cages were empty. Svyrins tended to go fast as they were valued as a bond partner to the more wealthier owners. A little known fact was the capability of some bonded Svyrins to acquire a human form.
That was one of the reasons that Zita was so weary to be getting one for her son. Her husband had insisted and she was been hard pressed to find a suitable arguement for why not. So now here she was leading her five year old son through the kennel, looking at Svyrins only a few weeks old. Her son cooed over some but never lingered, which was exactly what the handler leading them was waiting for. Most of them were solid colored with only a few sporting markings.
Finally though her son came to a solid stop in front of a cage holding one of the more marked Svyrins. A black pelt was interrupted by silver highlights on his ears, tail, and muzzle. The silver also covered the animals belly and the fur under his chest.
It was clear her son had picked out the Svyrin but it would remain to be seen if they bonded.
Zita felt her lip curl in disgust at the thought they would be bringing the creature home with them.
