[June 2][Original] The Runaway

Title: The Runaway
Day/Theme: June 2 - if I'm flying solo, at least I'm flying free
Series: Original (from the same story as June 1st)
Genre: Action/Adventure
Character/Pairing: Unnamed boy and his older sister
Rating: G

He couldn’t take it anymore. He paused as he finished packing his possessions. It wasn’t as though he didn’t love his sister. He did. He even appreciated how hard she worked to care for him, he had needed it when he was recovering from the injury, but now he wasn’t recovering anymore merely sliding more and more into being disabled. But he knew if he stayed and continued to let her take care of him, he’d always be dependent. Also - he’d always be holding her back.

That was the last thing he wanted. It was obvious to him that they both needed their own lives. This was the perfect time to leave too. They had just left their home; there wasn’t any real need for him to stay around. He didn’t have a purpose. And that was what he needed most desperately. He rolled up his sleeping bag; put it on top of his knapsack, threw it over his shoulder and left the campsite. He left a note so his sister wouldn’t worry.

But he knew the note wouldn’t do any good.
