[May 7, 2008][Final Fantasy Tactics] Chat in the Chocobo Stables
Title: Chat in the Chocobo Stables
Day/Theme: May 7, 2008 "The only constant I am sure of is this accelerating rate of change"
Series: Final Fantasy Tactics
Character/Pairing: Agrias, Isabella and various other extras
Rating: G
We grew up on a chocobo farm, you know," Isabella said, gently stroking the feathers of one of the many chocobos the group had gradually acquired. The chocobo warked pleasantly, glad for all the attention.
"So you're from somewhere around Lesalia, aren't you?" Agrias deduced.
"That's right. We used to go with our father down to the city's market to sell our birds," Isabella smiled fondly at the memory.
"Who's the "we" in this?" Alicia, one of the knights originally included in Ovelia's guard, inquired.
Lavian, the other such knight under Agrias' command, leaned her head against her comrade's shoulder as they rested in the inn's chocobo stables. "Did someone else from the mercenary group live on the farm with you?"
"Oh, I never mentioned it," Isabella realized. "Gustaf is my brother. I signed up to work with Sylvie beacuse of him, to tell the truth. He wanted to become a mercenary and I was afraid to let him go by himself. At the time he was only fifteen."
"So he's your younger brother," Agrias nodded. She was loathe to sit down all the way on the wet, matted straw covering the stone floor, so she only knelt.
"Well, one of my younger brother. Gustaf and I are closest in age in my family, but we've got three other little brothers back home. I suppose that's plenty of reason to want to amend the troubles of Ivalice." While she had been speaking, Isabella had stotpped petting the chocobo. It nudged the back of her arm, hoping to convince her to pay attention to it. She absently reached around and scratched the bird's head.
"I agree whole-heartedly," Agrias replied. She too wished to see this long period of trials pass. If only Ovelia's coronation could be uncontested. Was everyone so inclined to make this into something bloodier than the Fifty Years War?
"Sorry to make you wait out here," Ramza interrupted their conversation. "We're ready to go now. Let's saddle the birds and be off."
"Don't worry," Mustadio assured them. "It's stopped raining. ...Well, for now at least."
