It’s so dreadfully difficult to rule a country in the midst of adolescence. Sanaki hates every second of it.
“You’re mocking me. Stop it,” she snaps after a particularly trying episode.
Naesala only smirks at her again. “Why should I?”
“I’m a teenager, I can’t help being… awkward.”
His smirk widens, “But that only gives me more right to mock you, Sanaki.”
“And why is that?”
He makes a sound halfway between a laugh and a sigh. “Because I was an awkward teenager for thirty years.”
Sanaki opens her mouth and closes it again. “You win,” is all she says.
