Day/Theme May 3 - I love you when I forget about me

"Hello," said Edgar with a smile. He leaned against the bar table. The waitress raised a very unimpressed eyebrow. "I'm a thief, and I'm here to steal your heart."
Locke ground his heel onto the top of Edward's foot. It was not as effective as it might have been if they were not both wearing mithril-plated boots, but it got his point across. "Excuse my friend, miss, we're just looking for some information."
"There's nothin' happening in this town," the girl told them with a sniff. "Just soldiers," she added, pointedly. "You boys going to be drinking or just sitting?"
"No thanks," Locke said, but he flipped her a coin anyway. She pocketed it and left them alone. Locke sat down. "We don't want to cause any scenes."
Edgar smiled. "That was not a scene. You just don't appreciate the name of thief being taken in vain."
"Treasure hunter," Locke responded automatically, but he didn't protest. He did, however, have an expression on his face that Edgar had long ago dubbed the 'love is not a game, it is the most important thing in the world, and I lost it' look. But Edgar is an optimist, and he thinks a bit of cheerful flirting does more good than harm, especially in these troubled times.
That, and he holds onto the hope that one day he might actually get lucky.
