[March 19, 2008] [Gundam Wing] Disruptive Arguments
Title: Disruptive Arguments
Day/Theme: March 19 - Crossing Swords
Series: Gundam Wing/Original
Character/Pairing: OC
Rating: PG, if you squint
Kirsta shot up in her bed, disoriented by the loud voices and banging coming from downstairs. She looked about the dark room, her eyes finally resting on the clock sitting on the dresser with "3:58" blinking back at her. Vaguely wondering (no, she was not muttering, thank you very much) who was making such a ruckus at four in the morning, she grabbed her dressing gown from the back of her chair and pulled it on as she yanked opened the door.
Blinking in the bright lights that threatened to temporarily blind her, Kirsta stepped into the hallway and peered down the stairs. Ah. They were back. The heroes of the Eve Wars… Although some of them seemed more like adolescent boys than grown men at times, especially if the shouts and door-slamming had been any indication. But at least Irene was down there. Perhaps someone could give her a reasonable explanation for such commotion.
With a sigh, Kirsta tied the sash of her dressing gown more securely around her waist before trudging down the staircase. At the bottom of the stairs, she found Quatre also with a dressing gown over his pajamas as he semi-glared at the others gathered in the foyer, rubbing his eye.
"What in the name of the 5 LaGrange Points is going on here?" Kirsta demanded, hands on her hips, looking at each of the people gathered there, starting with Heero, moving around to Trowa and Wufei, and ending at Irene. "Where are Duo and Persia?"
"Ah, you see," Irene started after clearing her throat. "We -- Persia, Duo, Wufei, and I -- got lost on our way back here --"
"And you just got back now?" Quatre managed to ask.
"We, er, took advantage of the unknown...terrain for a little...adventure," Irene said sheepishly. "It started out all right, but then Duo and Persia got into an argument, which somehow grew into whose fault it was that we'd gotten lost. We're lucky Wufei was able to hold back."
"I can see that," Kirsta said dryly as she noticed how white Wufei's knuckles were.
"I'm going to get something to drink," he said stiffly before he stalked into the kitchen.
"But where are Duo and Persia?" Quatre repeated Kirsta's last question. "I thought I heard their voices."
"They decided to, uh, continue crossing swords."
"They went into the den," Trowa clarified.
Kirsta moved towards the door with Quatre on her heels, but Heero grasped her elbow. "You should leave them alone," he said in a low voice.
She frowned. "What do you mean?" Then she stopped. "It's unusually quiet in there," she said, her eyes narrowing slightly. "It can't be that--"
"You don't think they've killed each other, do you?" Quatre asked, slightly worried about his niece. But not too much, since he knew that she could take care of herself...most of the time.
Without waiting for an answer, he slipped past Kirsta and Heero and pushed open the door. And promptly flushed beet red.
Curious, Kirsta poked her head through the door and choked on her laughter -- Heero had to thump her back a few times. "Well, they certainly are crossing something."

Author's Note: Oh my. Newbie here. I haven't written in a looong time, and this is one of my first posts... Uh, unbeta'd so please be nice; constructive criticism would be helpful. Thanks!
