[Mar 8] [Hellsing] Worst Thing Out Tonight
Title: Worst Thing Out Tonight
Day/Theme: 8. Alone in a crowd one night.

Maybe it was pointless for Seras to have a day off, but all the soldiers got one, and therefore so did she. She had to wait for the sun to go down to venture out, but she found herself looking forward to it, if only for a change in routine.
That isn’t good, is it, she thought. Not even immortal for a decade and already feeling the pangs of monotony. And she felt a little silly running out to pretend to be human, especially with the undercurrent of amused contempt she felt from Alucard the whole time. Silly or not, she put on some civilian clothes and strolled out into the cool evening.
She made her way to a crowded street of shops and found a seat at an open café. The living humans milled around her. She could hear their hearts beating and could smell the warm life pumping through them. If she let her eyes unfocus, she could see them glow with a faint but warm light. She, herself, didn’t.
Creature of darkness, she thought with a little sigh. Shedding no light on the world. But then she looked out over the crowd again and was glad that there was nothing worse than her in sight. If some cold, blue shape emerged from all the living, golden lights, she would have to fight it. And as useless as a day off was for a vampire, she didn’t want to spend it working.
