[March 5] [Wolf and Spice] Good Girl

Title: Good Girl
Day/Theme: March 5th/Way of the wise.
Series: Wolf and Spice
Character/Pairing: Horo, Lawrence
Rating: G

“Why did you chase the innkeeper’s cat?”

From her bed, Horo rolled on her side, raising an eyebrow at Lawrence. “I didn’t chase that cat. I simply growled at it.”

Lawrence sighed as he lit the lantern and placed it on the table. “You also stalked towards it and chased it out of the room. You’re lucky the innkeeper didn’t notice. I doubt pet owners like seeing people scare their animals.”

Horo scoffed and returned to laying on her back. “It was annoying me and I hate cats.” She began to nonchalantly toy with the tip of her tail. “They’re creatures that are too proud for their own good. They glare at everybody else as if they were insects and not worth their time.” She turned to Lawrence. “It was giving me that look, and nobody gives Horo the Wise that look without paying for it.”

Lawrence frowned, folded his arms and rested his feet on the table. “You know Horo, there are times you act more like a dog than a wolf.”

In a quick motion, the wolf girl bolted upward and jumped off her bed. “WHAT?!” She marched to Lawrence and glared straight into his eyes. “I do NOT act like a dog. It’s true that wolves and dogs do share some common traits, but we are completely different.”

“Oh?” Lawrence raised an amused eyebrow, feeling he could have some fun with this. “You wag your tail at the mention of food.”

“That’s what tails are for.”

“Cats don’t.”

“Again, because they’re too full of themselves.” Horo slammed her hand on the table. “Wolves are wise and majestic creatures. Dogs are stupid beasts who are willing to do anything for food, performing brainless tricks taught to them by humans.”

Lawrence smirked. “Is that so?”

“VERY,” Horo replied, growling a bit.

Lawrence kept his smirk. “Horo, sit in that chair and I’ll give you an apple.”

Horo’s eyes lit up. “Really?” She grabbed a chair and sat next to Lawrence. It was only until he started laughing, Horo ‘the wise’ realized what she just did.

Chuckling, Lawrence patted the wolf girl on her head. “Good girl, Horo.”

“If you’re not careful Lawrence, you’re going to be joining that cat soon.”
